The Importance of Grades:

Grades are important, and your average should be as high as possible to guarantee academic qualification. If you don’t have the required grades (or courses) usually you will not be asked to submit a portfolio. A great portfolio can compensate for some bad marks when the department reviews and considers your application. So don’t get discourage from applying to a certain school just because your grades are just barely above the academic entrance bar.
